Engagement Session With Andrew and Jessica

These photos were taken in early Spring in Ontario. It was beginning to warm up outside and the couple was scheduled to marry in the next month. 

This is my friends Andrew and Jessica. A beautifully quirky couple that enjoy life and the outdoors. 

We headed out to a conservation area that was local to catch some nice late afternoon light for their shots. Because I have known them (or andrew)  for so long I found it challenging to take the perfect romantic picture. Familiarity was making me joke too much. Thankfully this couple were great with laughter and soft romantic pictures like this one. They photographed like pros. 

I asked the groom to be to whisper something sweet in his love's ear to make her smile. It gave the photo a more natural feel of the private things we share with those we love.

Its true. Its a time where we can now incorporate technology right into our photos to give us a creative edge. How much more could be done with this simple idea.

My Cuddlemonkey's

60 minutes and 30 shots can be the portrait you place on your wall. I took my own two boys out to shoot today. One is just two years old and the other is 7 months old.

I picked a place where I could park my car nearby so I had all my gear near and a place to fit my youngest should he need to be put into a seat. Also treats were at hand.
I only had 30 shots which was good because we all know our own children won't give us their very best like they will for someone else.
Keeping it relaxed I made funny faces and sounds and only once had a cry baby over who got to sit in the box.

The skeleton was a prank that was left in the bathroom overnight.

I love this moment. When you look at it everyone is looking directly at someone else. All the guests at the bride, the groom at the bride and the father of the bride at the groom. Its like a stop in time and an unnoticed photographer. Unposed.

Maternity Shoot Outdoors

I decided to try something different for me and make the photo appear like a old film movie style.

This woman's character is all about going for hikes and enjoying the world around her.
